Salt Flats : wildlife

We also went hiking a little to the west side of Salt Flats. Over there, we encountered some of the wildlife.

Bighorn Sheep
Bighorn Sheep, probably a mother

It was probably a family.
They stared at us, looked like that they were judging if we were harmless or not...

It was a sponge -like rock. There was a small shell in it!

From now on, some lizards are shown. So, if you don't like them, don't click this link below.

Among reptiles, I hate snakes, but lizards are ok. They look funny and cute, I think.

At first, we saw a Greater Short-Horned Lizard. He (or she?) looked pretty much spiky.

The next one was Common Sagebrush Lizard.
It was pretty small, approx. a half inch wide and 5 inches long.

The last one was Long-Nosed Leopard Lizard.
He (she?) was relatively big, about 1 foot long.

At first, it tend to escape from me, but suddenly it turned around. Probably found some fly or something to eat...

And jumped!
It jumped about 3 feet, so I thought it flied. I was totally surprised and this time "I" escaped from it.

Its tail is that much long. Oh, it was beautiful.
