I'm still baking cookies...

in the oven

after decoration

waiting for going away...

The brown ones are ginger cookies. I used molasses for the first time. The taste is ok, but I think I could improve a little to match my taste. Sugar cookies are just fine. I'm so thankful to my mother-in-law for the recipe!

Plätzchen

Oh, it's Christmas Time! I rarely do anything special but baking "Plätzchen" (Christmas cookies in German).

Plätzchen

The colorful ones will travel to Japan for my niece and nephews, and the other ones are for everybody else including me! But it's just the beginning, I'll bake more and more and more...!
Green Tea Roll Cake

It was my first trial to bake with green tea powder. The color outside isn't very nice......
We went to Deer Creek Reservoir again, and saw a lot of kitesurfer on the North end of the lake.

Sometimes they flew up too...!

It was the place where we were standing while watching them.

This time we went there in the late afternoon. It was cold again, but the sky before sunset was really beautiful.

On the way home from Deer Creek Reservoir, we dropped by Jordanelle Reservoir too.

It was a nice late fall day for going out a little.

In front of us, there was thick fog...!

It was actually our distination, Deer Creek Reservoir. When we arrived there, the fog was just clearing up...

It was right after Halloween, so a monster was reflecting too! (A silly couple...!)

It was a little chilly to sit besides water after a while, but I enjoyed the beautiful blue sky, a view on Mt. Timpanogos, birds on and above the lake, jumping fish, and so on.

It's my very first Jack o' lantern.

Chocolate-Strawberry Roll Cake

Suddenly I wanted to eat something which demands me to use my delicate sense.

And then, I had a little hard time to find some recipe which is easy but tasty enough because the word "delicate" is actually far beyond me. I mean, I can't make anything which requires  special skill, or which is complicated to make.

Finally, I found a simple recipe to make this roll cake, which has only a few easy steps to make and is delicious as well! I'm totally satisfied with the result even though it has some holes in the cream. It's ok, then it was my very first trial!

Few days ago, I went to Timpanogos Cave.

Hiking to the entrance of the cave was not long, took less than an hour, but the trail was very steep, and my heart was pounding really hardly.

One of the purposes of this trip was watching the sunrise.

But at first the moon.

We also went hiking a little to the west side of Salt Flats. Over there, we encountered some of the wildlife.

It was probably a family.

It was a sponge -like rock. There was a small shell in it!

This is my first tomato on my balcony this year! Oh, it's been a long way, and I've been waiting and waiting for that...! Now I'm really looking forward to tasting it!

Self made jam is tastier and more reasonable here in the US, I think. This time I used strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.

just got started!
